My First California Mule Deer

I took my first California Mule deer last year. It took me seven years to draw the X-zone tag. I spotted him on opening day about 1,000 yards a way. He was standing in some wide open sage county. I had to walk over a couple hills and lost sight of him. When I got there, he was gone. I hunted the sage like I was pheasant hunting. I jumped him and a nice 3x3 at 60 yards. When I walked to him I had no idea he was a nice 5x4!
